Milolii CBSFA & Management Plan
The ocean has been our guiding force for generations as we continue to be lawai'a (fisherman) in Milolii. Currently, Kalanihale has received funds from Castle Foundation, Atherton, IUCN Hawaii Conservation Alliance, Pa'a Pono Milolii, and Conservation International. Our goal is to create a Community Based Subsistence Fishery Area.
Supporters: Queen Liliuokalani Trust, The Nature Conservancy, E ala Pu, KUA, KUPA, Kai Kuleana, Kua o ka La, DLNR, DAR, OHA, and more, Hawaii Marine Education Research Center MERC
Through our efforts with our supporters, partners, community members, and state officials we are formalizing our proposed zones and building our rules package.
We seek your input and we look forward to Milolii having a CBSFA.
